4 Ways to Speed Up Boot Time in Windows 10

author photo

The problem with slow boot process on Windows is that it often makes users a little annoyed for waiting for a long process, and that's what happened to my friends when they were having booting time on their Windows 10 (maybe to look update using Windows 10 ). Most, of them more recommend to re-install.

It is true that it can make the system fresh again from the oven, but the fact does not need to go through these extreme steps to solve the boot process problem, some of the following steps may be a reference for you to solve the problem.

Let's check this out! ...

1.Fewer Desktop Icon Better

Why is that?. Because when logging in to Desktop, the system will load all the views on the desktop whether it's a file / document and includes a Shortcut (.ink), so if more and more Shortcut / file exists,

it will take more time for the system to load it.
There are several ways to work around this. First you can remove the Shortcut that is not needed / used by how to get it.

Secondly, you can unify shortcuts and files that are on the desktop in one folder. That way the system does not need to load the desktop display for too long because it will only load the folder.
Finally, you can hide these icons by right click - View - Uncheck the 'View desktop icon'.

2.Manage Current Applications When Windows Logins

The number of applications that run automatically at startup also takes the role of the boot system slowly. To set it up, open 'Task Manager' then navigate to the 'Startup' tab.

Choose the app that you really need when you first open the computer, but besides that you should also pay attention to the 'Startup Impact'. Because, if the application you want on the Startup Impact is 'High', then maybe you should think 2x because it can take boot time of about 1 second.

3.Enable Fast Startup Feature

Well, maybe this feature is not familiar anymore, because this feature has been around since the Windows 8 era. This feature is active by default, but if not then you can activate it by opening Power Options, then select 'Choose what the power button does'.

Enabling Fast Startup, click on the 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' section located at the top of the menu, so the fast startup feature opens, check 'Turn on fast startup (recommended)'. When finished click 'Save changes' to save changes.

4.Scan With Anti Virus Periodically

Another factor that causes the slowing of Windows 10 in the boot process is because the system is infected by viruses, malware, worms, trojans, and so on. Therefore, diligent scans with anti-virus software that exist, such as Avast, Bit-Defender, Kaspersky or innate of Windows 10 ie Windows Defender.

And when you already have anti-virus mainstay, do not forget to always update the version of the AV to keep the system secure from the virus.

Well, that's a little way I can give as a reference (based on my own experience) to speed up the boot process in Windows 10.
